OTC Psoriasis Treatment

Psoriasis is a medical condition in which the skin cells grow too rapidly and thus causes faulty signals to the immune system and could cause new skin cell to form in days rather than in weeks. The body itself does not shed the excess skin cells. Therefore, it piles up on the surface that causes skin and lesions to form. First is the hydrocortisone cream, this topical treatment comes in multiple brand name, it will be up to you which one you are going to pick up. Low-strength OTC versions of this topical agent are versatile and useful in not just psoriasis but also with other skin condition.

You can actually use this once to four times per day and most effective on the skin that has just been washed. Second is the oatmeal bath flakes such as those Aveeno products that have a skin-calming properties. You can simply pour the oats into your bath water and immerse your entire body. This kind of treatment is helpful especially to those with really extensive lesions.

This may not take out psoriasis but rest assured, this type of treatment can help soothe the irritations. Lastly, consider having menthol spray that sooths your ailment. Together with its soothing property, it also comes with anesthetic properties that could help relieve the itching, take note, relieve not clear out your psoriasis.
